Yuval Berger
Ph.D. Candidate
Yuval Berger is an architect and a Ph.D. candidate within the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He earned both his B.Sc. and his M.Arch. I in Architecture from the Technion, focusing his academic training on computational design and digital architecture. His current doctoral research investigates the intersection of living building materials, which incorporate living biological components into construction media, and large-scale robotic 3D printing. Through this work, he aims to bridge the gap between biological innovation and advanced manufacturing techniques.
In addition to his academic research, Yuval is an active member of the SAY Research Team. In this capacity, he designs and creates various experimental prototypes and installations utilizing waste-based materials, successfully repurposing and elevating undervalued resources to instill new cultural and functional values into old materials.
His creative and academic projects have earned multiple awards and accolades in prominent local and international venues. These exhibitions include Milan Design Week in 2023, Jerusalem Design Week in 2024, the Milan Triennale in 2025, and the Tel Aviv Biennale in 2026.
