D.DLab is a design-led technological research group positioning architectural design as a driving force in tackling one of the most significant global challenges of our time – the climate crisis in the context of the built environment. The architecture, engineering, and construction industries are responsible for 40% of global CO2 emissions, 30% of global waste production and 50% of raw resource consumption. Additionally, these sectors significantly impacts biodiversity directly affecting human health and well-being. In D.DLab we address these urgencies through three interconnected design-for-sustainability trajectories, aiming to generate new knowledge for architectural design.
About D.DLAB
D.DLAB team
We emerge from the observation of a world shaped by environmental factors and global challenges beyond our control. Such complexities require spatial practices to pursue higher-ordered goals, enabling designers to actively participate in formulating new directions for the built environment. Our community comprises a passionate and diverse group of researchers aspiring to serve as a launchpad for the exchange of ideas and as knowledge facilitators between academia and industry.
WATCH US WORK
Amid the complexities of an ever-changing world, spatial practices must transcend boundaries, empowering designers to craft innovative paths toward a resilient, responsive, and culturally inclusive built environment.
