Orli Stettner
Ph.D. Candidate
Orli Stettner is a Ph.D. candidate at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. She holds a B.Des. and an M.Des. from Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art. Her research explores how renewable resources and waste materials can be developed into new materials for architecture through a material-driven design approach. Combining material experimentation with computational design and additive manufacturing, she investigates how material systems can move beyond laboratory-scale testing toward scalable fabrication and real-world architectural applications. She is particularly interested in how materials interact with their surroundings and how they can remain active, adaptable, and responsive throughout their life cycle. Her work aims to reduce reliance on synthetic materials while making better and longer use of renewable and waste-derived resources.
